Thursday night and another show, this one with TC at Herbst Theatre in San Francisco with the Julliard String Quartet. Ting was at Taekwondo.

Our assigned seats were off to Stage Left, where we sat and soaked up the music for the first set. Tom and I both agreed at break that despite the promise of the Julliard reputation, the group seemed to be coasting a bit.

Following intermission, we moved up a couple rows and over into the center. The immediacy of a better view improved our appreciation for the second half of the show, which saw the group augmented by pianist Warren Jones for Schumann's Piano Quintet.

Apparently, Chronicle music critic, Joshua Kosman thought much the same, as you can read in his review:
Pianist works magic with Juilliard / Jones energizes quartet's Schumann.

After the show, Tom and I had a late supper at California Pizza Kitchen, squeezing in just before closing time.
