The Boston Red Sox vs. the Oakland A's at Fenway Park was the second of the suite of reunion events. Randy and I are not normally baseball fans, but heck, this is the Oakland A's (my current hometown) playing against the Boston Red Sox (my old hometown)! I had to appreciate the irony of it. I am all for the underdog, so I had to root for the A's! They lost splendidly with a final score of 9 to 3. How any team can win a non-hometown game is beyond me. I mean, the crowd alone is enough to discourage the most enthusiastic of players. Who feels like playing to a non-cheering crowd? Here's an article on the game from The Official Site of the Boston Red Sox: Pedro, Bats Power Sox Over A's, 9-3.

I only saw one person that I remotely recognized among the BLS section and she was sitting too far off for me to take the effort to navigate the narrow bleacher rows to try to reach her.

Go A's!  Go Red Sox!
