Ting's brother just bought a new dining room set and so he invited us over for dinner to try it out. Even though he had moved down to San Jose from San Francisco in September, we had not been to his "new" place. Siu-Fai is a bachelor and, either out of necessity or boredom, has learned to be a great cook! His only weakness is garlic bread. For whatever reason, he always burns them to a crisp, sometimes setting off the smoke alarm. Even though we are conscientious about keeping an eye on it, it would unfailingly burn. For dinner, he made pasta with a delicious creamy chicken sauce, which offsets the very smoky-flavored garlic bread.

This was the first time we met his housemate, Jimmy. Jimmy is from Texas and is a writer for Knight Ridder. At 6'6" tall,, it seems that he should be cocky, but Jimmy is as down-to-earth as they come with a funky sense of humor (but no Texas accent).
