Buy a copy for yourself. Buy another for a friend! In the segments marked //mezze//, Ed plays the melody and/or changes of the first tune, while singing the lyrics of the second and later tunes on top. I don't recall that the lyrics of any of the first tunes of these arrangements were sung, but I might have missed them. It was a strange experience of cognitive dissonance, a good mind-fuck! It's possible that some of the tunes not listed in this fashion were nonetheless performed that way -- my cue for writing down a tune usually comes from the lyrics rather than the music. † Screaming way in the background courtesy of Dave Malone. The soundcheck was super short, and as far as I could tell, both Joe and Mike were working mainly off musical intuition -- following Ed's cues as best they could, and laying out when they got lost. There was quite a crowd for the first set -- a very dense and thirsty school of fish! And Ed rewarded us with a really long set. Attendance for the second set was noticeably sparser, but it made for a better show experience, since there was now plenty of room to dance, and walk-up service at the bar. Back to the previous event ☸ Back to the 2013 yearbox ☸ Back to the 2013 event list! ☸ On to the next event!
