It's a great joy to be able to learn more about what makes these works so great...and less of a surprise to understand how they've managed to withstand the test of time and rise to the top of the genre. It also emphasises to me what great shadows has been cast by Haydn, Mozart, dvorak and other giants of chamber music, for relatively few current composers dare to troll in these same waters, as if all the interesting fish have been pulled out.
