## Notes

In line a little before the doors and found ourselves standing behind my buddy Jim Mullins and his pal Ken. It was nice shooting the breeze for a bit on a sunny Sunday evening. The house opened right on time and we skoodled on inside to see the usual sea of yellow tags. Jim opted for a table on the rail, a bit to the right of center, but right next to Will. Ting and I headed for the high ground at table 60, dead center. Works for me!

The set was pretty fun to listen to, especially when Will took a turn on the wah-wah or layered other crazy effects on top of his guitar, but the overall presentation was just a little tentative -- as if the band wasn't comfortable playing these tunes yet. Given that Will and Matt only met a few days earlier, I suppose this shouldn't be much of a surprise. I don't think I heard anything to complain about (like obvious clams), only that there was a sense of concentration on getting things right, rather than the looseness that comes from knowing how things should go. Ah well, sometimes that's the sort of show you get.
