## Part One: the Substitution

[7:36 PM lights down, let's go!]

[7:37 PM] Tonight's entertainment starts out with a previously unannounced 'appetizer': a very short play by Will Eno, featuring Kathryn Smith-McGlynn as _Ms. Forester_: a substitute teacher facing a class of somewhat cynical and disinterested college students (Dinah Berkeley, LeRoy S. Graham III, Emma Van Lare, and Jeff Wittekiend). It's witty and absurd ... and a good way of setting the scene for the mania of _Wakey Wakey_.

[7:49 PM] _the Substitution_ ends; house lights stay down, and a few seconds later, we've moved on to the main event.

* Tony Hale: _Guy_: male, 40s-60s, youthful looking but might suddenly look gaunt or unwell, in the wrong (right) lighting. He's in a wheelchair;
* Kathryn Smith-McGlynn: _Lisa_: female 30s-50s. A warm and caring person, but not inclined toward any kind of sentimentality. Loving, and, matter-of-fact, in equal amounts.

## Notes

I really enjoyed tonight's play(s) ... both operated on clever word-play and a willingness to open up to the ideas being shared rather than watching some sort of activity and wondering how the story being told was going to play out. Well done!
