Then zooming about to celebrate early Mother's Day with Ting's mom & pop, joined by her brother Scott & family at Pacific Lighthouse for a dim sum feast. Stuffed to the gills, we roll over to Stanford for tonight's Frost show. Turns out that despite the pleasant air temperature at about 72 F tops, it was darn hot out on the asphault where they contrived to keep the admittance line. I wasn't all that psyched about melting in the sun, so I covered up as best I could, and dodged into the sun-sappled tree shade just as soon as I could. Unhappily, something keeps us outside until nearly 5:15 PM -- well past the advertised 4:30 PM door time. Except for being impatient and ready to get on with the evening, the last bit of waiting wasn't all that bad. Eventually we're inside and Ted (or Bea?) has rallied us a spot dead center on the third step. Yowza! We quickly spread out our blankets and begin putting the campsite together. Pretty soon, it's time to dance, and Planet Drum arrives to set the groove. I've tried to match the set-times and descriptions I made during the performance to the setlist shared after the show had ended. We *mostly* agree. It was fun riding that beat, though I wished now and then to hear some lead guitar or other instrument join the singers at melody-making. Hopefully it won't take 12 years until the next time they play! Set break was extremely helpful for allowing me time to crash to the earth and rock awhile in my sling chair. I'd had the intention to get around and socialize, but as I had a tough time just moving ten feet to greet the Wahoo's, the chair was something that couldn't be turned down. I really enjoyed the latest version of _Jack Straw_, revved up quite a bit from the sorry version perfomed with Dead & Company. Without help from the setlist, I wouldn't have known the new tune was called _She Knows What I’m Thinking_. It's a Weir-typically complex beastie that will be interesting to follow as it develops. Upon starting _WRS_, the band found a vein of amazing musical ore to excavate all the way to the end of the set. Lots of interesting song choices and transitions. Funky jams! the Wolf Pack! I'm sold. I want to see these guys again soon! ## Photos Big thanks to Ting for the photo gallery! **Whoa!** This section is incomplete for now, sorry! Back to the previous event! ☸ Up to the 2022 yearbox! ☸ Up to the 2022 event list! ☸ On to the next event!
