Continuing with the criticism, I didn't mind the dissolution of the jam at the end of _St. Stephen_ before they launched _Shakedown_ -- it's a reasonable substitute for a proper segue -- but using _that same weird trick_ at the end of _Shakedown_ was cheap. I know the guys are capable of better, and it bothers me to hear them repeatedly take the lazy way out. On the other hand, I'll offer that I'd have rather heard that same dissolution segue in Set Two as a means of transition to _El Paso_ than what we got: Bob abruptly taking off his electric, picking up the acoustic, and then strumming absent-mindedly as if that would smooth the way into _El Paso_: nope! Another cheap ploy revealed for what it was. Obviously, there's no pleasing me! With a full stop at the end of _El Paso_, it was a surprise and a treat when Mayer started playing _Sing Me Back Home_: two cowboy tunes in a row! The segue from _Cumberland Blues_ into _Death Don't Have No Mercy_ was more of an abrupt left turn than the smooth slide that I'm listening for. I suppose I might upgrade it to a regular double-guillemet once I get a chance to re-listen. The single chevron is there as my feeling in the moment was "damn, that was a bumpy ride!" At the end of set two, no one actually left the stage, and the pause between the end of _Sugar Magnolia_ and the start of _Ripple_ was quite short: not more than a minute. With the show over, we suffered the crowds again (why can't they open all the frigggin' exit gates once the show is over?), then speed-walked back to our parking spot off Garcia about a mile away. I'm not always psyched for a post-show walk, but it generally beats being stuck in parking lot traffic! ## Photos Big thanks to Ting for the photo gallery! **Whoa!** This section is incomplete for now, sorry! Back to the previous event! ☸ Up to the 2022 yearbox! ☸ Up to the 2022 event list! ☸ On to the next event!
