## Notes

What fun! I was happy to be able to squeeze this early-evening show into my schedule: it fit just-exactly-perfectly between the end of the work-week and tonight's Friday's Live stream of the Kenny Barron Quintet from SFJAZZ.

My favorite of the night was _the Promised Land_, a driving, groovy piece by Myra Melford, not Chuck Berry! All three of these players are top notch, and while it was really fun to watch and hear them interact of the course of a generous set of music, it was even more fun to listen to them solo: those segments were so unpredictable that it had me laughing and grinning from ear to ear.
