Notes

As mentioned on the DBFS writeup, John Prine encountered travel dlays on his way to SFO today from the east coast, so his set got pushed back one slot. Not much difference for us listeners, though maybe Dawn would complain that it messed with the harmony of her master schedule.

Seemed like the same band as the last few times out, with the possible addition/exception of Pat McLaughlin – better go check my old notes on him!

John sounded alright to me, about the same old scratchy post-cancer voice. The set seemed slightly more rock-centric compared with folky past years… better for a late afternoon set. I was especially glad to hear him play Iron Ore Betty – one of my favorite Prine tunes. Paradise was another real fine one, and with Steve Earle joining to pick mandolin and trade verses, it was a super-fine choice to end the set.
