Notes

Originally scheduled for Sunday, Nov 8th; this show was postponed a day after unanticipated rainstorms doused the Beach Park stage and equipment. Today is bright and cold – about 61 F as we pull into the parking lot, with a light afternoon breeze until a bit after sunset (4:50-ish local time, on account of Mt. Tam).

The PA expansion from ALO has been retained, and upgraded with a bit more dressing: festive tie-dye covers over the flight cases and milk crates used to raise the Meyer pairs at each side of the Beach Park stage. At our fourth row table tonight, the addition of the outer wedges (one large Meyer stage wedge placed out 20' to outside of PA on both L & R) makes a huge improvement in creating a sense of spatial envelopment by the sound. Hopefully the neighbors won't complain about the additional volume!

I'll whine again about the lack of drums – who thought it was a good idea to add Alex as a third guitar? I'm not slagging on him in that capacity, just unhappy to be deprived of the standard rock and roll combo: drums are a necessary component! And Alex is a good drummer! Maybe it's those neighbors… no drums outdoors during the week?

Anyway, I've probably been on Twitter too much over the past few weeks, but it's hard for me not to read tonight's setlist as a statement on the current political scene. If so, I approve!
