Notes

It wasn't too surprising to see extra gear onstage this afternoon, after all, TXR had sent out updates mentioning that surprise guests would be appearing across the three-day run, but I didn't expect to get three of the five guests on the first night. Holy toledo! That's like drawing a full house on a pair of sevens!

Solid playing all night tonight. Lots of variation in the lead singing role. The only jamming segue was the totally unexpected change from China Cat into Mr. Charlie – I wonder who deserves credit for thinking that one up? GDTRFB was joyous, but rocky: my recollection is that only Stu & Graham look a lead verse, and that the rest of the time it was instrumental solos or another run through the chorus. That might have been a nod back to the classic Skull & Roses version, but I rather like hearing it a different verse from each singer – preferably offering some freestyle doggerel before the “Don't wanna be treated this a way” line that ends each verse.
