Notes

Being lazy and unmotivated, we skipped the morning segment of the festival: what's the point of taking vacation if you don't make time to recover and/or relax!

After having met a few of the girls at Laina's party yesterday, we'd aimed to arrive in time to catch their entire set, but we ended up slightly late, instead pulling into the Fairgrounds parking right at 4:15 PM. Grabbing our gear, next stop was at the entry table, where we had to wait our turn to get banded, then make the long schlepp down the dusty avenue of vendors and around to the racetrack. Once inside, we headed down front, then realized that we'd been given the wrong wristbands, so we turned around and headed back out to the entry area, waited some more in order to get things made right, and then hustled back to the show – all of which ended chewing up about a half hour. Oy!

Happily, the folks inside were happy to see us, and it was very cool to be made welcome at the rail – as if a prime spot had been set aside for us in advance or something! Today was relatively hot (high 80's during the day, cooling to high 60's by evening), so it was easy to work up a sweat dancing in the afternoon sunlight, but there was just enough breeze to keep things comfortable.

Hearing this set had me thinking that we'd enjoy hearing their Friday set backing up David Gans, but such was not to be, as we ended up making another late start that day too.
