Notes

Tonight's show was a good 'un. As another fan told me after the show: they were telling all sorts of cool stories onstage tonight, but none of them needed any words.

I was really surprised that the setlist almost entirely avoided the classic repertoire composed by Wayne Shorter. Kinda strange for something billed as a tribute show, but maybe that was just the marketing hoo-hah aimed at getting more tickets sold. Which didn't really seemed to work: tonight was another show with a house only half full. On the other hand, the folks present were both enthusiastic and good listeners. I was really glad about that. My kind of audience! And for what it's worth, it seems like everything they played came from their joint album, so maybe I came into the show with the wrong set of expectations.

No biggy, it was great fun anyways!

9:37 PM zooming back to West Oakland BART on the first eastbound train, yay! Gotta like that turnaround.
