Notes

After Ting reads that event volunteers get early entry to the main event, she signs us up to help with post-race duties. Unfortunately this means we make an insanely early start this morning (since we're asked to check in and help out with some pre-race tasks), but it's a beautiful day, and everyone's pretty friendly, so I'm glad we decided to help.

Nathan, Grahame and Connor all ran, by the way, finishing in that order, if I recall correctly. Sooner or later I'll share some of Ting's photos from both the race and the set that followed.

The band started up while the Turtle Trot was still in progress, but fortunately the finish line was right behind the soundboard, so I had a good view and good sound from my volunteer spot handing out medals to the finishers.

After the set ended, we walked out to our car, collected our show-going gear, then schlepped it across the parking lot to the entrance line. It was surprising how many folks were already waiting to get in: it was an eager crowd! We took full advantage of the early entrance earned by our volunteering to snag a perfect spot for our blanket: dead center, about 30' back from the stage. Yahoo! Gonna be a great day if the sun don't broil me to a crisp!

Big thanks to Ting for the photo gallery!
