Notes

We zoom up from San Jose in light traffic and arrive just in time to find a spot on yacht club and watch Phil climb out of his Porsche sedan. Walking over to the bar, it's fairly crowded with the usual suspects, but not so much that we can't say hello and mingle and wave howdy while working out where we gonna hang for the event. Eventually we settle on separate spots. I find a perch on the stairs where I can rest my bones yet see most of the proceedings, and Ting finds a spot in the front at the corner of Jason's keyboard.

It's a festive show tonight, and fun to listen to the group try out new and unusual tunes instead of trotting out the old warhorses for another pass down the parade field. I'm really happy to hear Let It Ride and Broken Arrow, Phil seems to be in better voice tonight than he has in awhile. Keep On Growing was another treat, all the more so for hearing it come from Stu instead of Phil. Ting was bummed that Reuben and Cerise got cut from the set at the last minute. I agree, that would have been another great choice. But I guess Phil wanted to wrap things up by 10 PM, so that one got left out. Sigh. Better luck next time!
