Notes

Today's gig was a great way to cap a splendid weekend, partying in the hippest driveway in Los Altos. This show drew the biggest crowd I can recall seeing at Narad's, with chairs laid out a good ways up the driveway. The weather was just exactly perfect – warm, but not too hot to be in the sun.

We arrived about 2:30 PM, just in time to snag a few good seats in the center of the third row. Beggars can't be choosers! There were plenty of other folks present already, and a fine-looking spread was laid out on the tables in the garage, so we loaded up our plates and chowed down while saying quick “hellos” to the hosts and other friends.

The band played a pretty eclectic list of tunes, from cock-eyed originals to traditional classics to revivals of forgotten tunes to popular classics affiliated with one or more of the band members. Most of the band members took at least one star turn at the mic, using the lead-in time for telling goofy stories and cracking jokes at the expense of the other band members. All in all, it was a darn good time, and if I get a chance to see them again, I will!
