    ## Notes

Another fine night of jamming tonight. The only “real” song performed was They Love Each Other, though Crazy Love came close, if you allow that they didn't follow the usual chord changes. Get Off of My Cloud featured Ross doing a bit of sprach-sang, though again, the band didn't really attempt to play the tune as written, but instead rocked it up, down and sideways (to the delight of the crowd!). In the Ohio jam that closed the show, Alex was clearly waiting for cues from Phil as to when to sing, and singing when those cues were delivered, but his mic was turned off the whole time. Very odd! And finally, in the case of both -China Cat Sunflower_ and the Other One, Phil sang a line or two at the start – perhaps a cue to the others as to where he was headed? – but the jams didn't really follow the established norms for those tunes in any way. As with the other Telstar shows, this one didn't really feature much of anything in the way of all-out, freaky weirdness; the focus instead seemed to be on jamming and listening to one another. Keeping the groove going. Fun!

At less than 80 minutes, and lacking an encore, it's easy to see why grumblers might be unhappy, but I feel like I got my $10 worth, and I expect to be back next time they put a Telstar gig on the schedule.
