Notes

Had a great time tonight thanks to our friends Paul and Lori, who put this whole adventure together. I was really impressed to see how fancified the local foundation has made the venue since my last visit some 30 years ago. Looks like a mini Red Rocks now, well done!

The scene inside was mellow and friendly, and we enjoyed hanging out and meeting our neighbors during the pre-show lull– seemed like good folks rather than the stinky wookies that Christwire warned about! For tonight our seats we're very slightly off to Stage Right –in the first row of cushy permanent seats up from the pit, about even with Page's keyboard rig. As the pit is about 8 or 10 feet lower than us, we have absolutely clean sight-lines to the entire stage, as well as the light show.

The show was awful darn good, and I was really surprised how many tunes I recognized over the course of the evening. It might be the case that I got 30% of the titles wrong, but Phish has never been about the words anyways, so I'm not concerned about failing on that front. And besides, making corrections will be trivial, thanks to the truly knowledgeable phans!

I was really pleased to hear them play Stevie Wonder's Boogie On Reggae Woman as the initial encore tune, though I have to add that the following jam served only to cool my enthusiasm – I didn't really hear anything interesting during that passage until they hit the denouement of the Tweezer reprise. Oh well. Even a single is better than a whiff!
