Notes

Another fine night with the Suspects! The opener, Mission Delirium seemed to have pulled a pretty big crowd – guess that's a little easier when the band is so big, right? You just have all the significant others bring two or three friends and just like that, there's 50 people dancing around. The band put on a fun set, with plenty of fast paced eastern European brass band riffing, fine choreography and enthusiastic audience participation, though like the Brass Boppers last night, the overall entertainment value isn't yet at a consistently high enough level to convince me it's worth paying for!

The Suspects, on the other hand, have me solely in the go column. I know that even when I'm feeling low, like last night, a few tunes worth of that driving beat from Willie Green and that solid continuo from Reggie and I'm going to flipping about like an otter playing in the water. It's sheer bliss to spend a few hours with these guys, and I look forward to doing it again soon!
