Notes

I wish I could be more specific, but I was really lost in listening rather than trying to keep track of the tunes tonight. I can relate that Gismonti played both Loro and Frevo during the piano portion of tonight's gig, and possibly Palhaço, which may have been introduced as part of a long story that he told about playing with Charlie Haden in Montreal in 1989. Gismonti seemed to be in a really good mood, despite the insufferable enthusiasm of a few superfans in the house. He took time to talk to us at a couple of points, telling a long story about meeting Charlie Haden at the Great American Music Hall in 1976, and how that led to his initial contact with ECM. Charlie's widow, Ruth Cameron, was present tonight, and Egberto dedicated the encore, one of Charlie's compositions, to her.
