Notes

I'm really glad we made it out for tonight's gig. Middle of the week shows generally mean it will be a mellow, low-key, mostly hometown crowd of music lovers. Seemed like quite a few visitors tonight, but very respectful of the music. Yay! Makes it more fun when everyone is more or less in the same head space. I'm sure that a few hours more practice would have helped nudge the performance up a few notches … maybe even kick the meter from Fun/Fine over to Excellent, but I feel like I got my moneys worth nonetheless. You can't expect them all to be unforgettable ragers, and there's much to be said for the comfort and familiarity built by a band of brothers playing together night after night.

I feel bad that we didn't check out Ross James' Cosmic Twang set in the bar, but the notion of getting home well before midnight was just too attractive, so after hanging in the Grate Room until they started to seep up, we headed off into the night….
