Tried to get dinner near our hotel but Mom's Diner was closed – according to the hand-lettered sign, it was way too hot to stay open today!

Drove over to the venue and got into the lot just after 5 PM. Took a leisurely walk around Shakedown Street but didn't buy anything besides sustenance: rosemary and grilled cheese on wheat and a couple bottles of Gatorade. Found a shady spot in line and parked ourselves against the rail to wait.

Eventually 6 PM came, and they let us through to the thoroughly in prepared search teams at the gates, then on to the ticket-scanner and inside. No big hurry, no big hassle. Ended up with a killer spot: dead center, less than 10 ft back from stage. Would be just exactly perfect if we weren't getting baked by the afternoon sunshine –ugh! I'm sweating like a pig!
