Notes

It's a rare treat to have Peter play shows in the Bay Area these days, so I shouldn't have been surprised to arrive at the Ivy Room and find it more crowded than ever. In fact, Ting and I were told we were the “last two” to get walk-up tickets for the show … and we were there early!

So folks were packed in like sardines, but luckily, Ting managed to squeeze herself along the far inside wall a few steps back from stage, and I found a good spot to stand at the front of the second archway where I could see most of the action and hear the show just great (except for chit-chat from folks standing behind me who really had no business talking over the music, or general merriment from the bar).

As Ting commented afterwards, lyrically, the tunes were all pretty strange – perhaps because of Natalie spending too much time in the Phish orbit? But given the opening statement, my take on it was that they were written following dream-logic. Anyways, both the lyrics and the music were quirky, but most of the time, the groove kept me wobbling in place, happily dancing in my head.
