Notes

Whoa! This section is incomplete for now, sorry! Sad news from Sugar Pie: she mentioned during her set that she's fighting throat cancer. 'Course that didn't stop her from doing back rolls and splits during her short set. Amazing! And checking in via the Internet, the word via a review posted by Mariza Tavares is that the prognosis is good!

So it turns out that Terry Lewis is in a local funk band, True Funk Soldiers, which leads me to think his appearance with Maceo tonight was a well-planned act akin to photo-bombing: fortunately, the guy can play, and he did his part to tear the roof off the sucka when Maceo told him it was time to blow.

Andrew Gilbert wrote a nice promo article for the show at the Mercury News.
