## Notes

Tonight Donny and his merry band gave us a very interesting blend of straight up analog jazz with a hefty dose of electronica in the keyboards and bass parts. I was a little perturbed when Jim Nadel allowed that the band was only going to play one set, but I definitely enjoyed my fill, so I guess the takeaway there is not to get attached to superficiality. One Set, two sets, it's all good if the music is blazing!

Donny did a good job telling us about the tunes, but I must have been distracted, because I don't seem to have written anything intelligible about the titles. I'm gonna go out on a limb (hah!) and assert that he played a big chunk of his latest album, _Fast Future_, available for the bargain price of $10 at [BandCamp](https://donnymccaslin.bandcamp.com/album/fast-future), which offers tags "drum & bass edm jazz New York" -- a reasonably succint (and accurate!) list, IMHO! _Stadium Jazz_ was definitely one of the later cuts, but I'm hard pressed to recall whether it was actually the fourth tune or not. Should have taken better notes!
