It's filling up decently well, with a relatively thick crowd about half way back into the room, but Ting uses her slinky ways and we squirm into a nice spot dead center, about 15' back from the stage. Cowabunga! Let's hope now that it remains relatively idiot-free (present company excepted!). Turns out that my prayer was answered: only had one drink spilled on my all night, and only one talkative idiot too. Guess I got lucky! Of course, the massive volume put out by Hot Tuna probably helped quite a bit. That old Maxell commercial of the guy getting blown away? Yeah, live electric Hot Tuna is kinda like that, but with more face-melting. Good thing I had my extra-super-duper ear plugs tonight. It's an interesting experience to watch Jack thumping on his bass and then realize that your chest is getting walloped by low frequency, high pressure sound waves that cause you to resonate like some strange bell. Not the sorta thing I want to do too often, but every now and then, yeah! That's the ticket!
