Notes

Although I didn't realize it until we arrived, tonight's show was a belated BD celebration for our host Craig Backer. Katie Kincade created a beautiful one-off poster for him that had band members and fans asking for copies: good luck kids! Maybe she'll post images online for us.

Tonight's show was fun, but it seemed as if Matt & Joe were slightly out of sorts, and I thought I heard more than a few miscues between them. Hopefully it's just the result of feeling under the weather (Matt was more than a little hoarse) and nothing serious enough to defy a weekend's recuperation!

Dan was goofing around on electric bass quite a bit tonight – the first time I recall seeing him do that. His foot pedal usage evoked that extra-funky Stevie Wonder groove on Boogie on Reggae Woman, yum! And Across the Universe was a gorgeous way to wrap things up, even if it sailed over the heads of the partying crowd down on the lower end of the room. Yay, Beatles!
