hey Randy and Ting!

I just checked out your visit to Japan, and loved it. Its making it hard for me to work and concentrate.

I wanted to share a couple of things. Did you happen to see that article in the sf chronicle home section with that huge picture of that geodesic dome? We actually went racing over there about a month ago, because we found it on the web site, and then after we arrived were dissapointed because its right off of macarther, in a sketchy neighborhood with unemloyed people hanging around looking like they need something to do, not exactly the environment we want chun il to go riding his scooter through. but I punched in your zip code and our price range to see what we could come up with. I did see something on snake rd. though. We have to decide, castro valley, oakland hills or san francisco still. Sometimes I think my heart is set on san francisco-----so like chun il wouldn't have to miss tball for events like grandma's party, i could just invite everyone over to see it as a warm up before the party; or ask someone like ann to take him-----------

but then, when I look at the pricing for summer camp programs in castro valley to host all of those Koreans that want to come over and study english, castro valley is much cheaper than san francisco, and don't get me started on the cost of day care in san francisco! Hopefully, though if all goes well, we won't really have to use to many more day care programs for chun il. I'd rather use those tthree hours that he has after school for baseball, taek kwan do, piano, etc.

on another note, randy, you absolutely MUST read the book "Swallowing Clouds" by A.Zee if you haven't already. Let me know, I will buy it for you. Its about Chinese Food, and Culture, and learning to read Chinese menues. You have to read it. In a few hours, you can learn to read a chinese menu. Its very fun reading. You don't want your younger sister to read more chinese than you do you? You can't be that busy. and I also got to learn that eating opium for the dysentary that I had in korea was actually introduced by the arabs, not the chinese; and that hong kong was lent to england because the chinese government burned the opium, and forbid it to be imported, becasue the english wanted all the chinese goods, and the chinese didn't really want to import anything from england. Jung Hwan can't believe my lack of knowledge of asian history. Its much more interesting after you've been there. The guy is the most amazing writer in English, and his chinese etymology isn't so bad either.

well back to work.

love you

tiff

ps. jung hwan wanted to go drink more at buena vista after the party. finally you all are getting to see the side of him that I first met in korea. his drunk american self is starting to resemble his drunk korean self!

and we asked chun il if appa is a genuine korean, he said undoubtedly YES! and i asked him, what are you and he said,"a pretend korean!"
