Notes

Tonight's show – my second time seeing Trigger Hippy – was super fun! Go By Ocean warmed us up with a decent set, though I wish they'd taken time to introduce everybody, as it's confusing when the personnel changes nearly every time I see them. I think I'd also appreciate them more if Eric took time to introduce some of his songs. Connecting with the audience is a valuable skill, and talking to us is the first step! I doubt I got any of the song titles right except the obvious closing cover tune.

I'm pretty sure that Trigger Hippy played through their entire new album, but that's sheer speculation until I get around to checking it out online. Jackie and Joan have really good chemistry as singing partners, both harmonically and doing the “he said, she said” thing. Nick's contributions were also really strong, and I especially liked that funky soul sauce that he stirred into the pot with his phat bass lines. Closing with a Beatles cover was a solid choice – hard to go wrong there! – and it was fun to sing along with the rest of the crowd on the choruses. I look forward to seeing them again on the next go round!
