Notes

I was surprised that Randall Kline wasn't out to introduce Shelby at the start of tonight's show – I'd assumed that the extraordinarily broad range of acts on this year's festival were a direct reflection of his listening tastes. Guess not!

Anyways, it was truly a fun show tonight. Shelby and her crack band started out by playing through her brand new album, I Can't Imagine, from top to bottom, less an omission or two, then followed it up with a jubilant run through the tunes on her 1999 triumph, I Am Shelby Lynne, including a couple of the bonus tracks tacked on for the recent re-release. The band was obviously easy more comfortable with the older material, but the new tunes sounded great too, and the guitar interplay between Ben and Eli was a real treat to listen to. Had a real twangin' time tonight!
