Hard to get moving this morning, but we did our best, and being early, traffic and parking were a trifle easier than yesterday. Couldn't hear any music booming across the park as we unpacked the car (just after 9 AM), then what sounded like muffled announcements as we walked in, so I'm guessing that the list above is complete. No doubt someone with better knowledge can set me straight if I ever find them! Now that I reflect on things, I'm guessing I didn't make any note of the first tune … which must have been playing as we were entering Hellman Hollow, and that Stars on the Water was probably the second tune of the soundcheck.
Emmylou missed the soundcheck too – on account of being down in LA for some sort of awards ceremony last night. Rodney sounded great, but I think someone forgot to explain the concept of playing an opening SET instead of just a perfunctory soundcheck. Oh well. I'm glad we rallied for it anyways. And hey, whaddaya want for nuttin'? Less stressful to arrive early and settle in before the arrival of the maddening crowd. Nice to be able to stretch out and take in the morning sun and get to know our early arriving neighbors.
