Melvin's set today was fun, though it fell short of my high expectations: not quite enough mojo or something. Sometimes it feels exactly right to lope along with that easy beat, but I was hoping to hear a bit more vim and fire. I'm definitely making a mountain out of a molehill here, and I'm reasonably sure that most of the crowd was well satisfied with the set. Heck I was shaking and twirling myself, but I wanted to be transported, and it felt to me as if the band just wasn't really aiming for lift off this afternoon. C'est la vie!
