Performers

Notes

Tonight's show was pretty darn good. Especially the first pair of tunes, setting a high bar for the rest of the performance!

It was kind of funny hearing that Joshua wasn't interested in trying Sonny Rollins' Oleo with Zakir – they opted to play Charlie Parker's Red Cross instead. I'm gonna guess that with Rollins' St. Thomas already intended as the encore, Joshua simply wanted to spread the composer credits around.

I thought it was interesting that they restricted themselves to a single solo tune apiece: given that today was their first performance together, I was expecting to hear a bit less structure and more aimless improvisation. My bad for selling these guys short!
