I was really surprised to hear John croak-sing a couple tunes tonight. It seemed like a puckish/punk/rock-n-roll move (it was a jazz gig, after all) more than a groaner. During the set-ending NFA he tried (and failed) to get the crowd to do the clap-along bit at the conclusion (not enough dead heads in the audience?).
