-After watching the [NPR webcast](http://www.npr.org/event/music/332030079/ryan-adams-live-in-concert-newport-folk-festival-2014) of his recent performance at Newport, I was really lookking forward to seeing Ryan Adams again. His new album is great, he's gotten together a band that can really rage (Newport was only the third gig for this new band), and he seems to have his head in a pretty good space these days. So I was pumped to see him listed as the Friday night closer, and I'm happy to report that he delivered the goods in spades!
-It was good to hear some of my favorite older tunes (_Let It Ride_, _Easy Plateau_, _Peaceful Valley_) mixed in with the new ones (_Gimme Something Good_, _Shadows_, _Trouble_), as well as some (_New York, New York_, _Dirty Rain_) that I wasn't all that familiar with. Really gets me psyched to see him come back around for a full length gig in the near future.
