Notes

  • Minglewood was played over a totally diffent vamp than the Dead version, sort of a basic blues shuffle? Maybe Dave took his arrangement from the 1930 recording by Noah Lewis? REB has a pretty helpful page about the history and evolution of this tune.
  • Never Let Your Fire Go Out was also played in an unusual arrangement: it sounded to me as if the band started out playing Back at the Chicken Shack.
  • As originally planned, both the first and second setlists included one or more tunes (“Animals medley”, Morning Dew!), presumably cut as spur of the moment choices by Dave.
