Notes

7:30-ish, most of band members hanging out while we enter – maybe there was a pre-show meet and greet session? When I head outside a little while later they're congregated around the motorhome on yacht club, laughing at the antics of ?Joe Russo's? tiny dog. Hardly 30 folks are here early for the first-in rush – makes for a mellow scene.

First set impressions? Fun, loose, good spacey jams, surprisingly out there for a first set. Nice pair of Dylan covers – makes me want to hear them dig deeper into that repertoire.

Second set was blazing. Lots of good energy tonight. Long and meaty jams. I was particularly surprised with the syntax of the set – drums and space? whoa! And chasing NFA with Playin' to close? Whoa, they be messing with my expectations. Good to be knocked off balance sometimes. Gotta disrupt the status quo.

Back to the calendar!
