Notes

Tonight's show was pretty good fun, even if Darryl seemed slightly ill at ease in his role as emcee, interacting with the crowd. I think the two best tunes of the night were the roaring opener, Duke's Travels and In That Quiet Earth. No doubt familiarity played a large part in that evaluation, but I was also surprised and happy to hear Shock the Monkey and Freeway Jam. As for the rest of the show? It was fine, but being new to most of the tunes, they didn't really catch my interest too much one way or the other, except for initiating scattered thoughts like “oh, that sounds like Larry Carlton” or “awesome bass playing” or “dang, I'd definitely go see Kostias on his own gig.” All in all it was quite a pleasant evening. Thanks guys!
