Notes

This event was originally advertised as Band of Brothers, but that moniker was removed sometime between the presale period last year and the actual event this week: bait and switch? Yeah, probably fits that definition, but I was pretty happy with the group assembled and the repertoire they played, so I won't complain much about it tonight.

I don't recall having seen Bill Frisell play with Charles Lloyd before; my guess is that this pairing gave Charles a good excuse to dive into the tunes of his youth, that Memphis stew of country, R&B, and jazz that percolated out of Hi Records and other outfits back in the mid 20th century.

As is typical for a Frisell gig, it was a big challenge trying to identify the tunes, and there's plenty likelihood that the initial list posted above includes multiple errors. So sue me if I'm wrong, and we'll hash it out properly before an adjutant of the proper order.
