After hearing second hand reports that the Bros has gone all rock and roll at their most recent Fillmore gig earlier this year, I was a little anxious to hear what they had in mind for the Hardly Strictly crowd. Happily it was more of the same old astonishing virtuosity, with a teensy dose of percussion measured out by Gabe after safely hanging his violin off to the side. Chris Thile was his usual manic bouncy self, a blazing ball of energy driving the rest of the band forward, while Noam played the rock steady straight man. Dang these guys are good!

The crowd was amazingly respectful and quiet, most particularly during Passapied and Julep. It's nice to be in a gathering of folks who know how to listen! Here's hoping this set shows up in the video stream archives so I can enjoy it again and again!

Doesn't look like they have any California trips on the schedule through year-end, but if I luck out and find myself in the same town with a free evening, you can bet I'm gonna try and get into the show!
