Notes

A beautiful day in the bay area … sunny, warm, a light breeze – just the kind to spend indoors listening to organ music? Well, I guess that's what I signed up for today! On the plus side, Messr. Dubois acquitted himself admirably, performing the entire concert from memory, with nary a lapse or fluff that I could detect, save for a few hurried moments to adjust the stops in the middle of a couple of the pieces. On the minus side, today's recital seemed to lean a bit more towards the shock-and-awe style of performance, something that I find quite tiring after a few minutes. Must be that volume thing: too much of everything is just enough? Yeah, for some folks, it is!
