It might not be obvious, but all of the tunes above were originally composed by Chick Corea – mostly as a young man. For this tour, various members of the JaLCO selected favorites to rearrange for big band performance.

Andrew Gilbert posted a very brief promo article about the gig for the Mercury News.

Took some digging, but it turns out that Wynton was absent tonight because he's working as a visiting scholar at Cornell this week.

It surprised me how many subs were called up tonight – a half dozen? – too bad that the program notes didn't get updated in time to reflect all of the changes!
