Notes

I'm surprised to encounter congestion at the Highway 13/24 interchange at 2 PM, but fortunately, it's a minor hassle instead of a big mess, and soon enough I'm parking outside Rockridge BART. Made in the shade! Wait a few, then a quick hop down the line to 19th St, where I select a suboptimal exit from the station, giving myself an extra block or two of exercise. No biggie, it's a nice day! I get in line about 2:30 PM, right as the queue starts to move inside, and after about 10 minutes, they've checked me in, and I'm free to head inside, where I weasel my way to a spot up front in the blast zone of the stage left PA hanging over the stage. It's kinda close to the percussion set-up; hopefully the drums won't be too overwhelming! Twenty minutes more wait and finally it's time to go. An invisible announcer welcomes us to Bandcamp and calls Christian Scott and his band to the stage. Off we go!

Christian is wearing a very rad red outfit and a ton of bling. Damn! Forgot to bring the camera! Hopefully I can turn something up by poking around on the interwebs. The coat comes off midway through the first tune … yeah, it's hot in here, even if it's got the usually June foggy chill going outside. The band is cooking, the crowd is swaying, and we're having a good ol' time. Pretty fine for a Thursday afternoon! I'm kinda bummed when they wrap things up at exactly four on the dot, but I guess some people ought to get a little work done before the end of the day, right?

Thanks folks!
