Well as much as I love these tunes and enjoyed hearing them stretched and rearranged tonight, it was also one of those shows where I had time to wonder during some of the meandering solos about the audacity of taking on these classics … just 'cause you can blow, doesn't mean you need to open your mouth, y'know?

And then there was the decision to sell the event as a sit down show. Hello? At least a good fraction of the crowd saw fit to ignore that directive, and started dancing with the first of the Sly tunes, early on in the night. Right on my sisters and brothers, right on!

Good fun for a Saturday night!
