Notes

[3:45 PM] we hop into the lottery line: Ting hanging out with the usual big crew; I hang out alone about 200 people back…10 minutes later and already at least 50 more people in line. Lotta folks hoping to get lucky today!

[4:20 PM] wrist-banding line is moving along at a decent clip today. Sounds like the band is soundchecking Help on the Way – that's a good sign!

[4:38 PM] tagged and released to swim free for awhile – 45 min until the exciting announcement of today's lucky number.

Tagging ends sometime between 4:50 and 4:58 PM, last band given today is #598. Almost the same as Thursday, interesting! Given that there are just over 6000 folks in attendance, that tells you that quite a few are motivated to be up front! Line was pretty quiet over the final fifteen minutes: might have been smarter just to waltzs in at the end and get a high number. Maybe that's the strategy for tomorrow!

262 is the winner! Hey, that means I'm gonna be on the rail. Psych!!

A few minutes after the announcement, the line has gotten sort of in order and we're marched inside. Cynthia Fisher is just ahead of me, so we walk in together, doing our best to stay ahead of the sleazers trying to sneak up to an even better line position.

Holding inside at big video, Soundcheck still going: Good Love, High Time; Quinn the Eskimo; [5:50 PM] Soundcheck done?

My buddy Dave (in orange) on his way in tonight with his kids Josh and Kaila: gotta bring your own towel!

[6:18 PM] seated at the rail: same exact spot as last night. Very tight right this second, hopefully folks stay reasonably friendly. No giant grouches just yet.

[7:20 PM] back from a dash to go pee. Easy to get out, quick lope to and fro down the beach; a bit tougher coming back in because of rail attitude, but it's all good now. Helped to have assistance from the security dude who told the grumpy folks to let me squeeze by!

A nice shot from Jay Blakesberg

The show ends, and after making time for good byes and see you later's, we head over to Nizuc Pool for a late night set from Goose.

Good show tonight! Too bad I didn't make time to jot down my post-show thoughts that night or the next day. Must have been too busy having fun!
