Notes

Given past promptness on Phil's part for recent show, I was really surprised that he was nowhere to be seen until almost 1:30 PM. Dang it, doesn't he realize that some of us are still working stiffs? Ah well, guess I'll just be making up for lost time tonight.

Today was darn good – very interesting setlist choices that mostly avoided repeats from the past six weeks. I like it like that! Of course I'd like it even better with a drummer, but that doesn't seem to bother Phil, and I'm going to do my best to chillax and enjoy the program as presented each day!

Apparently the crews working in the shipyard down the canal didn't get the message that loud machinery and tool use was to be suspended between the hours of 1 and 3 PM for today's concert. Methinks somebody ought to drop off a pack of Gonzo's Couch Potato or Narcoberry blunts at lunch hour on Thursday … that ought to help cut down on the noise a bit. The out-of-tempo clanging and banging was kind of distracting, but not nearly as bad as the roar of rush hour traffic from shows scheduled at a later hour. Que sera, eh?

At the end of the show, Phil forgot to say anything to us about staying seated in our squares until he could leave, and then he dilly-dallied for a bit, first mucking about a bit with his gear, then taking his time to get packed up to head out the back/side exit. Seems to me that freaks leaving by the regular entrance would have zero health-safety impact on him, given that we wouldn't be crossing paths. Maybe they'll figure that out by next time…
