Notes

$300/ticket, damn! Was it worth it!? That's a good question! It certainly was not quite as much a spectacle as the previous tour, and yet it was undeniably a rare and rich experience. I guess the point of contention lies on how much you value you place on such things!

I generally like hearing rearrangements of familiar tunes, but I'm not a big fan of Rogers turgid take on Comfortably Numb: it seems to me that he took pains to erase Gilmour's contributions as much as possible. Sad! That said, I really enjoyed the straighter approach taken to the Floyd catalogue in the latter half of the first set. It was cool to hear Roger talk a bit about the old days, and I also enjoyed the photos and home movie snippets.

As with set one, I enjoyed the latter half of set two more than the start: I understand that war is bad, and I don't really need to watch Roger machine gunning the crowd to drive that point home. Anyways, the DSOTM tunes were terrific, and the singing of the girls on this tour was certainly as good as the Lucius pair a few years back.

Roger admitted that following that up with a song about nuclear annihilation was a bummer: yep! An odd choice in that spot! But I enjoyed the final pair of tunes, and I think they wrapped things up pretty nicely. I particularly liked the video feed showing the final verse of outside the wallbeing performed backstage after the band exited.

Whoa! This section is incomplete for now, sorry!
