Notes

In an ideal world we might better be everywhere all at once, but most of the time you gotta weigh the alternatives and come up with a reasonable compromise. We'd been planning to catching ALO's 25th Anniversary show at the Fillmore for a few months, but when Dom called me up on Friday to invite us down to his 70th BD bash at the Los Altos Golf and Country Club, I knew we had to do it. Social obligations trump convenience!

So we rallied a bit earlier than planned for today, then drove across the bay to Los Altos Hills for a bit of pre-ALO celebration. Arriving promptly at the 6 PM start in order to maximize our visiting time, it was a happy surprise to find friends present from near and far, starting with the band. Howzabout that, Mitch Stein and friends with a top-notch Meyer Ultra x40/750-LFC PA and a snazzy LED lighting rig!

Snacking and chit-chatting and sipping fine wine, the time passed way too quickly, and we ended up leaving before the first set ended. Dang! In an alternate universe we stayed to dance until the lights came on at the end of the night.
